Innovation support

Analytical services

Boasting the highest concentration of publicly funded research in the Netherlands, Amsterdam Science Park is currently home to eight research institutes of the University of Amsterdam and three institutes of the Netherlands Organisation for Scientific Research (NWO):

The Advanced Research Centre for Nanolithography (ARCNL), a collaboration of ASML, NWO and UVA/VU, conduct fundamental and applied research in areas that are key to unlocking innovation in the global semiconductor industry. Having these research centers on board, a large amount of research instruments are available and ready to use.

Human capital

Amsterdam Science Park is home to a valuable pool of highly qualified students. The UvA Faculty of Science accommodates around 6,000 students studying chemistry, biology, life sciences, physics, computer sciences, astronomy, and mathematics.

Since September 2012, the 900 students of the prestigious Amsterdam University College (AUC) have also called the Science Park their home. Highly motivated students are conducting (scientific) internships throughout the year.

Knowledge & Courses

Having the research centres, including the Van 't Hoff Institute for Molecular Sciences (HIMS) and the Swammerdam Institute for Life Sciences (SILS), on board, academic knowledge of chemistry and biochemistry is within reach.

Various researchers at Amsterdam Science Park are dedicated to bring their knowledge to the market in the form of companies. They are assisted by IXA (Innovation Exchange Amsterdam), which offers legal advice, financial support and training in the valorisation process. ACE Incubator offers training and support to turn tech and science-based ideas into companies.

Today, there are 120 companies at Amsterdam Science Park, 40 of which are the product of a scientific discovery. With the existing institutes and business you have access to all kind of courses and workshops.
