Due to the specific location of the Passenger Terminal, which lies near vulnerable objects, the standard methodology was supplemented by an impact study, in which the actual effects of an LNG leakage were investigated using a recognised simulation model, a so-called CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) study.
The result of this simulation indicated that there was no risk of fatality on the quay or in the buildings on the quay, provided that strict precautions were in place during the LNG bunkering. These measures are included as a condition in the designation of this bunker location.
