Traffic measures during the SAIL-In parade
On Wednesday, 20 August 2025, the SAIL-In Parade (hereafter referred to as "the Parade") will take place as the opening of the SAIL 2025 event. The Parade will feature a convoy of approximately 50 Tall Ships, accompanied by hundreds of historic vessels, passenger ships, and recreational craft. The Parade is scheduled to begin at 10:00 with the ships departing from the locks at IJmuiden and is expected to end around 18:00, when the final vessels dock at IJhaven.
Given the scale of the Parade, specific traffic measures and temporary closures will be implemented during the event to ensure the smooth and safe flow of shipping traffic. These measures and closures are necessary and will be kept to a minimum. They may be adjusted, as required, with the possibility of extending or shortening the duration depending on the circumstances. The measures will apply to both municipal and national waters.
