Electriq Awarded RVO Grant for Hydrogen Powder Plant in port of Amsterdam

Electriq Global, a pioneer and industry leader in Solid Hydrogen Carriers was awarded a €1.1M grant from the Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO). Electriq's Hydrogen Powder manufacturing plant, slated to be built on Zenith Energy Terminals' grounds and powered by Zenith’s Renewable Energy, is scheduled to begin operations in 2026.

New owner Rietlanden bids farewell to coals

Coals terminal Rietlanden, which was owned by the Japanese company JERA Global Markets, has been sold to Rhenus Group, a big logistics player in tranport and storage. In a joint statemnt, both companies confirmed this today. With the sale, Port of Amsterdam has secured there will be no more coal transhipment from 2030. The new owner will transform Rietlanden into a terminal where other types of non-fossil cargo will be transhipped. Rhenus and Port of Amsterdam will work this out further in the future.

Special cargo of 83 meters long wind turbine blades through the Amsterdam port area

In July 2023, a very special transport took place in the Amsterdam port area. With the help of a convoy of trucks, wind turbine blades with a total transport length of about 95 meters per truck were transported. The maritime sector has just become one step closer to clean, emission-free shipping. A collaboration between FincoEnergies and the Port of Amsterdam has resulted in a permit for FincoEnergies to supply bio-methanol to maritime consumers within the Amsterdam port area.

New drinking water supply point on Haparanda Dam

In the third quarter of 2023, there will be a new drinking water supply point at the Haparanda Dam. There was already a drinking water supply point at the Haparanda Dam and in the Afrikahaven, but there was high demand for a second one.
